OUR HISTORY
The founder of our company, situated at the Handelsweg in Andijk, was, as the name reveals, Nanne Kooiman. ‘More than 40 years ago, I started out with no more than my two hands and a great deal of enthusiasm and I thought to myself: “If I can’t make it in Andijk, I can’t make it anywhere in the world.’’ I rented a shed and that’s where I started. There was a market for what I was doing.’ He was right. The construction company where Kooiman got his materials from to furnish his property had ‘a tractor that wasn’t working anymore’. It was the first job that the locally born and bred entrepreneur had. ‘During the opening of the company, I was approached by a horticulturist who asked me to fix the lighting for him. And I’ve never been out of work since.’
After technical college, Kooiman went into business and later studied Business Operations and Management. Technological acumen and a passion for his work were what motivated him. The work grew steadily, as did the company, resulting after four decades in a satisfied and loyal customer base. ‘We are not a company specialising in a broad range of products but, rather, a lean company that offers in-depth solutions. This, along with our excellent service, is where our strength lies.
Today
Mechanisatiebedrijf Nanne Kooiman continues to flourish. Today, Nanne’s son, Wim, is also on the board of the company. Wim: ’We specialise in open field vegetable cultivation which, apart from planting vegetables, also involves tillage, fertilisation systems etc. We do not only import and trade the standard products but also build customised machines with the aid of semifinished products. We design and construct the frames ourselves. The customer’s wishes always come first.’
Kooiman’s tailor-made concept has proven its value. This is also apparent from the size of the company. The current premises cover 2,400 m2 of a plot area of 6,300 m2. Wim: ‘It provides our team of employees with sufficient space for our activities.

Mechanisatiebedrijf Nanne Kooiman’s mission is to make working in the field easier and more efficient. This means that customers are given an opportunity to suggest solutions to ensure that all required modifications to the machines work efficiently and effectively.
